Privacy policy

This policy covers the Top Run: Space Arcade iPhone and iPad app, the Top Run website, and the worldwide leaderboard.

Progress on your device

The game stores your best distance, aircraft unlock progress, selected jet, and a randomly generated pilot identifier on your device or in your browser. These let the game remember your progress and recognize your leaderboard submissions. Local progress is separate on each device and browser. It can be removed by deleting the app or clearing the browser's site data.

Worldwide leaderboard

Score sharing is off by default, including when an existing player updates to a version with consent controls. You can play online or offline and save progress on your device without uploading your flights. In World Top 50, the game explains the data and destination before you choose ALLOW SCORE SHARING. You can choose PLAY WITHOUT SHARING instead. Saving a callsign alone does not give consent.

After you opt in, future online flights send your random pilot identifier to Joshua Mckinney’s Top Run leaderboard service. The server stores a hashed version, records the start time, and creates a validation record. When a flight finishes, the game automatically sends your chosen pilot nickname and distance; the server records the submission time. These records are associated with a device identity, not an account containing your real name or email.

The public top-50 board shows nicknames and distances, and an opaque identifier supports reporting and blocking. A pilot can occupy multiple places. A pilot’s best submitted flight contributes to aggregate rank percentages. Please use a nickname and avoid personal information. No flight played before consent is submitted later. Viewing the board with sharing off does not send your pilot identifier; the connection itself exposes ordinary request information to the hosting service.

Choose TURN OFF SCORE SHARING in World Top 50 anytime. This stops future flight uploads and clears pending submissions on the device. Requests already received by the server and previously uploaded scores are not automatically deleted. Contact us to request their removal. Your consent choice is saved on that device and is separate on other devices and browsers. Older versions without consent controls must be updated before they can upload flights.

Flight-validation records expire after 24 hours; expired records are removed when subsequent online flights start. Submitted leaderboard records are retained for the all-time rankings unless removed. To ask about or request removal of an entry, contact toprunspacearcade@gmail.com with the displayed pilot name and distance. We may need additional information to identify the relevant entry.

Reports and blocking

If you report a pilot, we store your hashed device identity, the reported pilot’s identifier and name, the selected reason, report time, and moderation outcome. Reports are private and are used to investigate abuse. A public opaque pilot identifier lets the app attach safety actions to the correct entry; it is not your original device token. Blocking stores the two hashed pilot identities so the choice persists for your device identity. Unblocking deletes that block. Reports and bans are retained to handle abuse and appeals; contact support to request deletion, subject to records needed to prevent abuse.

Support messages

If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send, such as a problem description or screenshot. We use these messages to respond and follow up on support, privacy, and leaderboard requests. Please do not send sensitive information that is unnecessary for your request.

Services that help run the game

Hosting and email providers help deliver the website, leaderboard, and support messages. These services process the information needed to provide those functions and may handle standard connection information such as IP addresses and request times. Apple handles App Store downloads and may process diagnostics according to your Apple settings and Apple's policies.

Permissions, advertising, and tracking

The game does not request access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, or microphone. It does not include advertising, cross-app tracking, or an analytics SDK. We do not sell your gameplay or support information.

Your choices

You can leave score sharing off or turn it off in World Top 50, use a non-identifying pilot name, and contact us about your information. Parents or guardians can also contact us about a child's submitted information. Clearing local data does not automatically remove an existing server-side leaderboard entry.

Changes and contact

If the game's data practices change, we will update this policy and its effective date. For privacy questions, email toprunspacearcade@gmail.com.
